What they did
After failing to find the Labubu doll in several stores, the author tapped "Ask AI to check availability" in Google Search. She answered questions about the product and distance, and Gemini called the store, identifying itself as an AI.
How it went
About 40 minutes later she received confirmation of stock with prices.
Good to know
The feature has limited availability by country.
The prompt
Write a short script for me to call (or message on WhatsApp) stores asking whether they have [product, model] in stock, the price, and whether they will hold it until [day]. Also list stores in [neighborhood/city] that usually sell this kind of product.
