What they did
An accounting firm in Ji-Paraná (Rondônia, Brazil), with 10 people and more than 35 clients, took on a large client at the end of 2024 that needed the balance sheet for an entire fiscal year. To handle the volume, it adopted the Integra Fácil tool from the Escritório Inteligente platform. It reads bank statements, loan and consortium statements, reconciliation and owner payroll reports in PDF, Excel and XML, learns the chart of accounts and fills in the accounts, integrating with the Domínio Web accounting system. Researchers at Afya Ji-Paraná studied the case and built a Python prototype that reproduces the process.
How it went
In August, once the team had adapted, the tool recorded 30,686 entries for a single client, saving 298 hours of work. The license cost R$1,400 and the monthly fee is R$262.45; the study considers the investment worthwhile.
Good to know
The tool classifies, but does not replace human checking: the accountant remains responsible for analyzing each transaction. The study is qualitative, based on interviews and observation at a single firm.
The prompt
I will paste the bank statement of [fictitious client] for [month] and the firm's chart of accounts. For each line of the statement, suggest the debit account, the credit account and the entry description. Mark anything that cannot be classified with confidence as a question. Deliver it as a table for me to check before importing into [accounting system].
